As summer is coming to a close, we're looking forward to school starting again. We have a few important dates! Friday, August 7th 12:00 - 1:00 Popsicles with the Principal Tuesday, August 18th 6:00-7:00 Back to school night

Join Davis Reads 45 this summer! Students are challenged to read for 45 days, earning prizes every 5 days and a special end-of-summer event for those who complete the challenge. Pick up books during summer library hours. Families should check with their local elementary school for specific days and times. Regular summer reading helps prevent learning loss and supports continued academic growth. Contact your school or library to get started!

Davis School District has partnered with Waterford Upstart to provide our PreK children with an on-demand early learning program that gives you tools, coaching and resources so you can prepare your child for a bright future.

Program Benefits:

• Tailored software with fun and engaging lessons in reading, math and science that are done in just fifteen minutes a day
• Personalized family coaching and easy-to-use resources that support the work you’re already doing with your child
• A computer and internet access for those who qualify

Congratulations to our Decathlon winners! Their hard work, dedication, and countless hours of training truly paid off. Our school swept the tournament with every competing grade taking First Place! Way to go, Tigers! 🐯

Exciting News! The Tolman Elementary Library will be open for checkouts during the summer. Students can come to the library on Tuesdays between 9:00-10:30am to check-in and check-out books. There is a fun reading incentive for the students to read for at least 20 minutes for 45 days this summer. Fill out the tracker and bring it to the library to get a token for every 5 days that have been read. There will be a special event for the students that read all 45 days! 

This week, our school community came together to choose kindness, connection, and hope during Hope Week! We kicked off Hope Week with an inspiring opening assembly with Stand4Kind and a powerful guest speaker, Gideon DiMelglio, who reminded us that limitations do not define us. This was followed by our students leaving their handprints as a pledge to "Be the I in K_ND". Every moment taught us the power of kindness and inclusion.

Our Hope Squad also participated in Stand4Kind leadership training and spread kindness across campus through Kindness Grams to help raise funds for next year’s Hope Week!

Thank you to every student, parent, and staff member who helped make this week so special and meaningful. Together, we are building a kinder school, one act at a time.

Happy Administrative Professionals Day to the incredible women who keep our school running smoothly every single day! Their kindness, organization, and dedication create a welcoming space for our students, staff, and families. You are the heart of our front office, and our entire school community is better because of you. Thank you for all that you do—we appreciate you more than words can say!

PTA Grandparents' Art Night. April 23rd from 6:00 to 8:00 here at the school. We will also have a buy one, get one free bookfair that night. Come see all the cool books and school supplies available.

We look forward to seeing the work of all our little artists. Everyone is invited to come enjoy a delightful evening of art and enchantment. The lovely art will be on display and there will be a craft and treats for all.

Exciting news! Mrs. Jenkins and Mrs. Bingham’s classrooms have been awarded a grant for interactive panels, bringing new opportunities for engaging, hands-on learning. A big thank you to the Davis Educational Foundation for supporting innovation in our schools and helping enhance the classroom experience for students and teachers alike!

This Friday, April 10th will be the FINAL House Lunch of the year. Bring a blanket/chair and enjoy a picnic outside!
