MEMO WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 21, 2020
Hello Again Tolman Families,
As you already know, It was announced earlier this week that Davis County Schools will begin a four-day week schedule beginning Sept. 28. Students will receive face-to-face instruction Monday through Thursday. Friday will be a day of training and planning for teachers and students will have the opportunity to finish up assignments and get some additional remote practice (as needed).
We are excited to see all of our Tolman Tigers but also understand that for some this might be an uncomfortable options. I would like to reassure you that we will continue to adhere to ALL of the Davis County Health Guidelines including washing upon enter and leaving classrooms, all staff and students wearing of masks with some short breaks (5 minutes) offered during the day as decided by the teacher. Our recesses are less than 10 minutes and within the guidelines to allow students to play without masks. Our playground supervisors will continue to monitor students interactions and encourage social distancing. Students will continue to have a grade-level door to enter and leave the building and guests will continue to be required to check in through the front doors of the school by our school Covid Aide. Our lunch periods have been spread out over a larger period of time and we have added additional tables to allow distancing.
I would like to give a huge THANK YOU to parents in helping our students understand the need for sanitizing and mask wearing. Teachers have noted that students have been real champs in this area. We also appreciate the attention parents have given to keep students at home if they have a concern that a student may not be feeling well. We have not had any students or staff reported with Covid 19 and hope to keep it that way.
We continue to provide as much routine as possible at school and are looking forward to some fun small groups activities going forward. PTA WHITE RIBBON WEEK (next week), BOO TO THE FLU on Wednesday and a STUFF THE BUS COLORING CONTEST.
Thanks again for your continued support! We appreciate you more than we can say!!

FOUR WEEK CALENDAR For the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year and in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Davis School District has adopted a hybrid alternating-day attendance model where students are grouped by the first letter of their last name. The district will update the calendar to reflect any changes and add additional weeks as needed. https://resources.finalsite.net/images/v1596841835/davisk12utus/zqgktkx494hdjzmjzizb/CalendarWks1-4.pdf

Audible is offering many free audio books for our students during this time. This is a great resourse that you can share with your students. There is no log in, they don't ask for any information. Just go to the website below and your students can start listening. I tried it out this morning. Here is the original message from Audible.
