LETTER FROM REID NEWEY, SUPERINTENDENT

Tuesday, March 24, 2020

Dear parent/guardian,As you know, COVID-19 has now become part of our vocabulary and it has affected many aspects of our lives, including how we, as parents and families, adjust to an altered way of life.

The district will follow its current protocols following Spring Break, and continue its soft closure of all schools, as directed by Utah Gov. Gary Herbert, until May 1, 2020. We will also continue to consult with state and local health officials and will act accordingly.

As previously indicated in prior letters, the district will hold Spring Break Monday, March 30 through Friday, April 3. We want all students, staff and families to enjoy a break from any school work during this time.

The district is also taking action to reduce contact between individuals by requiring any student or parent who needs to be in a school building to make an appointment to do so. That practice begins today. A log of visitors is to also be kept; that step is being taken in case someone becomes ill and others need to be
